The Chief Information Officer serves as MOM’s technology leader and will oversee our technology teams to include: IT Help Desk, Special Projects, and Data & Development. Specific responsibilities will include:

Ensuring we are using and deploying the right technology solutions in our retail stores as we scale
Providing both Systems Thinking and Strategic Leadership for the technology teams
Overseeing and coaching our IT Support team to continually look for process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
Overseeing and coaching the Special Projects team to use the best process framework for managing an ongoing project, setting timelines, and allocating resources
Overseeing and coaching the Data & Development Team in using a data governance model that allows for scale and seeking for opportunities to simplify and automate data processes
Leading and coaching the three department managers of these retail technology teams.

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience with Retail POS and Back Office infrastructure
Comfort with Google Cloud
Some experience with custom software development
Experience negotiating with software vendors
Ability to create a technology road map that will scale and meet current and future business needs
Ability to effectively communicate across varying audiences
Passion for building outstanding teams and creating an environment where individuals can do their best work.
Ability to create technology road maps to scale business and technology needs

Additional Information

This position is based out of our Central Store Support in Rockville, MD and reports directly to the CEO
Light travel required to the greater Baltimore, Philadelphia, and D.C. areas

Our IT Help Desk deploy and manage our hardware and cloud Infrastructure. IT keeps the registers, phones and computers running 24/7.

Our Special Projects team evaluates our technology needs and then manages the design/training/deployment process across multiple departmental teams.

The Data/Development team manage our database infrastructure as well as design/code/support our various software solutions. They provide software related help desk support to our store and central teams. In addition, they manage a reporting schedule to provide relevant accurate data to various store and central teams. As well as any ad hoc reporting and problem solving that is required. Data keeps our POS and Back Office systems running 24/7.




Ensure they are solving all IT issues arising in stores and central office quickly and efficiently
Use best practices in managing our server deployments
Secure our network infrastructure
Manage our vendors proactively
Manage new store IT infrastructure buildout
Communicate across all departments on all things IT related

Focus on the priorities set by MOM’s Leadership Team
Use best process to effectively evaluate and move projects forward or not
Communicate with all relevant stakeholders in evaluating problem solutions so that the right one is implemented.
Set realistic timelines for projects and accurately assigning resources to meet those timelines
Use the best/right process framework for managing an ongoing project (we like Scrum)
Work with various teams to clear roadblocks and provide resources for successful project completion
Honestly evaluate the outcomes of completed projects

Adding and updating item data in a timely and accurate manner in
Using a data governance model that allows for scale
Systematically testing and documenting software in a protected environment before deployment
Using best practices in data validation for all reports and scripts
Designing reports with users input and looking for ways to reduce the quantity of reports.
Communicating process changes, potential roadblocks and solutions to stakeholders across the company in a timely manner.
Using the most appropriate application programming frameworks for various custom programming projects
Insuring that common frameworks are used as much as possible and kept feasibly up to date.
Solving and closing support tickets with Store team priority first, Central office second.
Working with various department heads to prioritize reporting and scripting projects
Always looking for opportunities to simplify and automate data processes, scripts and procedures
Effectively and proactively pushing our various software vendors to make product improvements that benefit our teams
