Description
Monsieur Marcel Seafood Market, located at the Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax, is now serving fresh local and imported seafood to our patrons at Monsieur Marcel Seafood Market and Monsieur Marcel Bistro, also located at the Original Farmers Market, in Los Angeles.

We're building our team and looking for one or more fishmongers with a passion for the sea and customer service. The ideal candidate will:

- take deliveries of fresh fish and place orders
- review stock on a regular basis
- act as front-line salesperson and possess excellent communications and conversational skill
- work with seafood vendors, suppliers and partners
- interact and collaborate with existing restaurant and market employees, including Chef and servers
- de-scale fish and remove bones
- gut and clean fish and seafood
- arrange displays of fish on ice and in display cases
- ensure that fish is stored properly at all times
- advise customers which products to purchase and how to store and cook fish properly
- clean tools on a regular basis

You must:

- have superior knife and filet skills
- have a background in and definitely a passion for selling seafood
- physical stamina and ability to lift more than 30 lbs
- back-of-house kitchen experience is a plus
- ability to enthusiastically talk about and sell seafood, caviar, shellfish and condiment products
- ability to work fast, efficiently and productively under high-volume and fast-paced environment
