Description

NAYA MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTER AND GRILL IS LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED, ENTHUSIASTIC, AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE TO JOIN OUR VERY FIRST NEW JERSEY LOCATION!

Oversees, directs and coordinates the planning, organizing, training, and leadership of the Naya and its staff necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all Naya drink and food recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards
  •  Manages inventory and communication with vendors so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service maintaining profitable operations and reducing waste
  • Sets regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation standards 
  • Manages restaurant in case of the absence of the front of house manager 
  • Establish line check procedure to ensure DOH compliance multiple times daily; Conduct line checks multiple times per day when on duty to ensure DOH compliance; address all DOH violations immediately
  • Requests and approves any maintenance or repairs as needed
  • Promotes and practices safe work habits through trainings, education, uniform enforcement and day-to-day management
  • Identifies and resolves potential safety hazards; ensures accidents are documented following proper procedure, conducts initial investigations and determination of root cause of safety incidents in the interest of maintaining a safe work environment Maintains compliance of any licenses and food certifications
  •  Reviews time sheets for prep staff with GM, address time clock abuse(clocking in early or late) via coaching and/or documentation 
  • Oversee performance review process for all BOH employees and provides feedback as needed 
  • Participates in training staff as it pertains to menu and food knowledge Establish regular communication with BOH team, including pre-shifts, meetings, trainings, etc. 
  • Participates in all required meetings, trainings, etc. 
  • Builds a team of customer-focused employees through coaching and performance Management 
  • Hires new staff and providing training to facilitate quick acclimation 
  • Coaches team members to provide consistent execution and exemplary service 
Essential Requirements 
  • The ability to speak, understand, read and write in English, perform basic math
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team with a sense of ownership and of urgency
  • Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards
  • The ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • Ability to utilize traditional software programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and any additional systems as needed

Work & Education Experience Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience as restaurant manager for similar caliber concept
  • High school diploma or GED NY Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate
