Description
North Square Restaurant & Lounge is seeking hospitality-minded servers with bartending skills to join our team. We've been offering great food and drink in the heart of Greenwich Village since 1992.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years experience as a server in a Full Service Restaurant
- Must have experience using a POS System (PosiTouch a PLUS)
- Personal style which is cordial and welcoming
- Ability to communicate effectively in the everyday routine and in stressful situations
- Wine and beer knowledge is necessary
- Must have open availability
- Deeply rooted belief in cultivating hospitality for guests and colleagues alike
ABOUT THIS POSITION
We have both a full-service restaurant and separate lounge. Because we are a small organization, we are looking for candidates who are comfortable working in a dining room setting and in the lounge, providing excellent service in both venues. Our lounge is an intimate space, with six seats at the bar and about 30 seats on the floor. Often the room is only staffed with one person. That person must be equally at home behind the bar and on the floor. It can be a very demanding room to navigate, but perfect for someone who's up to the challenge.
AVAILABILITY
Full availability preferred; some Sunday brunches required
HOURS
Lunch and Brunch - 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM (call time is 11:00 AM)
Dinner - 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM (opening server call time is 4:00 PM)
Lounge - 5:00 PM to midnight (call time is 4:00 PM)
PAY
This is a full-time position, which for us means 4 to 5 shifts per week. You can expect to make an average of $600 per week.
BENEFITS
Health coverage is available to full-time employees after three months.
Paid time off is available to full-time employees after one year of employment.
