Description
Role: Café Kitsune Chef de Partie
Type: Permanent | Full-time
Salary: £10.50 per hour
Fixed Hours: 8 am - 4 pm 

Role

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our new and exciting Japanese inspired Café Kitsune. CDPs are responsible for different assigned sections in our Café Kitsune kitchen and ensuring that all of the operations are running smoothly. The food menu will include Sandos and savoury type of dishes. We are looking for someone who is a team player with a professional attitude and excellent work ethics. The job needs to be done while adhering to company standards, policies and procedures and statutory requirements. Chef De Partie should be passionate about food and be able to work under fast pace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes
  • Ensure adequacy supplies at the cooking stations
  • Preparing ingredients which should be frequently available
  • Full knowledge of the given sections
  • Following the guidelines of the Head Chef and keeping these in mind when cooking preparing and plating all the dishes
  • Assisting the team with anything needed
  • Food labelling and temperature checks (following Food Alert specifications)
  • Ensuring that the cleaning schedule is adhered to at all time and that cleaning tasks are completed as appropriate
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions
  • To follow the company policies and management direction with a positive attitude
  • In service maintaining control and organisation of the sections while communicating with the team effectively
  • Full knowledge in the use of all kitchen equipment
  • Preparation of daily specials following the company brief
  • To be present on daily staff briefings prior service
  • Ensure that kitchen has been cleaned at the end of each service
  • Communicate any staff issues with Head Chef, Senior Sous and HR (lateness, unauthorised absence, poor performance)
  • Maintain clear communication with the Front of House Team and the Management Team

Essential skills & requirements

  • A minimum of 2-year’ experience in a similar role within a similar industry is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Work well under pressure in a busy environment
  • Great organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail
