JOB BRIEF:
 

We are looking to hire a motivated and skilled Waiter/Bellboy to assist Front Office with luggage assistance as well as supporting F&B in taking orders and deliver food and beverages to our guests. The right person that uplifts the guest welcoming at the hotel and provides an exemplary dining experience, with the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role. 

Waiter/Bellboy responsibilities include greeting and serving guests, providing detailed information on menus as well as multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties. If you are able to perform well in fast-paced environments, we’d like to meet you. To be a successful in this role, you should be courteous, efficient, team player and able to effectively communicate with the FO & F&B teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Provide courteous assistance with luggage, hotel info and guest relations

·         Supports the smooth running of the food & beverage department, where all aspects of the guest food & beverage service experience are delivered to the highest levels

·         Welcoming and seating guests, taking guest orders, communicating them effectively to the kitchen

·         Memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks

·         Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems

·         Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area

·         Deliver checks and collect bill payments and post them accordingly
·         Collaborates with team and immediate supervisor, ensuring productivity and performance levels are attained
·         Delivers messages, packages and flowers for guests, and undertakes any other requests to ensure their comfort

·         Refills and replaces promotional material in FO and F&B as needed

·         Performs light cleaning in the lobby and restaurant by picking up litter, emptying ashtrays and properly arranging furniture

·         Keeps luggage storage room and restaurant cutleries and crookeries clean and tidy

·         Ensures the efficient delivery and collection of group luggage

·         Assists guests with luggage to the taxi or car, when the account has been settled

·         Checks the daily arrival, departure list as well as in-house breakfast list

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE

·         Is able to operate switchboard, telefax, key equipment, credit card machines and printers, hotel alarm systems, and other Front Office equipment

·         Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)

·         Basic math skills

·         Attentiveness and patience for customers

·         Excellent presentation skills

·         Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

SECURITY, HEALTH AND SAFETY

·         Ensures that guest details are not disclosed

·         Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy

·         Reports any suspicious behavior of guests and staff to the Duty Manager, and Security

·         Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others

·         Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and notifies the Operations Manager

·         Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct

GUEST RELATIONS

·         Acquires and uses information of regular guests and VIP guests to provide personalized service

·         Welcomes guests upon arrival; exhibits courteous manners

·         Promotes Park Inn by Radisson Hotel by inviting guests to return

·         Maximizes customer satisfaction and utilization of hotel facilities by promoting hotel restaurants and other services to customers.

·         Keeps self-updated on all local events, sights, restaurants, activities etc., in order to provide customers with updated information, and assistance

·         Provides guests with hotel brochures, local maps, and restaurant menus as requested, and refers them to the Concierge for further information

 

MISCELLANEOUS

·         Updates self on hotel rooms and restaurant availability

·         Hands-on approach with a can-do work style

·         Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry

·         Ability to find creative solutions taking ownership for duties and tasks assigned
·         Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence
·         Experience of working with IT systems on various platforms
·         Strong communication skills

·         Updates self on conference, banqueting and other events in the hotel

·         Is fully aware of RHG service concepts

·         Is fully aware of all current hotel promotions

·         Communicates effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors

·         Demonstrates teamwork by co-operating and assisting Front Office and F&B colleagues as needed

·         Attends meetings and training required by the Operations Manager

·         Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests

·         Maintains own working areas, and materials clean, tidy and in good shape; reports defective materials and equipment to the Operations Manager
