Petit Ermitage is an 80 room all-suite hotel, featuring a Private Rooftop, with a Garden, indoor/ outdoor lounge spaces, saltwater pool and 360 degree views of the Hollywood Hills. Our hotel attracts an eclectic, elegant and largely European clientele. We operate on the premise that excellent customer service can be delivered to our guests while our staff maintains a familial, respectful, positive and fun working environment.

Petit Ermitage seeks an individual that possesses a distinct and pleasant personality, excellent work ethic, a positive attitude, an eye for detail and a natural aptitude for absorbing new information quickly for the Food Runner position.

DEPARTMENT: Culinary

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Food Runner role is dedicated to providing quality service that exceeds Guest expectations work to create guests for life, by proactively embracing service standards, adhering to safety regulations and gaining the knowledge to assist guests with any and all needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstration and ownership in any and all tasks needed to carry out Service Standards, constantly embracing ways to create guests for life.
• Creative and Innovative nature that allows employee partners to successfully multi-task while serving multiple guest needs in an organized and efficient manor.
• Awareness to all safety precautions and procedures to ensure a safe atmosphere for guests and employee
partners.
• Ensure prepared plates of food are fresh and that any requested alterations from the printed menu are completed properly before delivering the plate.
• Responsible for transporting all necessary food items from the kitchen to the dining room as soon as
possible while following all standards of service.
• Provide customer service to external guests and internal guests, as well as greeting guests who pass
by your area.
• Clean and maintain a hygienic and organized work area.
• Set up expediter station; perform opening, and closing duties of area.
• Assist dishwasher with putting away daily deliveries utilizing the (FIFO) standard.
• Maintenance/Cleanliness of Service area machinery.
• Perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience--
• Minimum of 2 years in the culinary field with at least one year culinary supervisory experience within a full-service hotel property or similar environment is preferred.

Language Skills—
• Ability communicates effectively and professionally with other departments, guests, and others in English.
• Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

Physical Ability—
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Moving about the kitchen.
• Handling food, objects, products and utensils.
• Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per day.

Other—
• Must be able to work nights, weekends/holidays.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must have a strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to communication effectively.
• Must have CA Food handling certificate.
