Petit Ermitage is an 80 room all-suite hotel, featuring a Private Rooftop, with a Garden, indoor/ outdoor lounge spaces, saltwater pool and 360 degree views of the Hollywood Hills. Our hotel attracts an eclectic, elegant and largely European clientele. We operate on the premise that excellent customer service can be delivered to our guests while our staff maintains a familial, respectful, positive and fun working environment.

Petit Ermitage seeks an individual that possesses a distinct and pleasant personality, excellent work ethic, a positive attitude, an eye for detail and a natural aptitude for absorbing new information quickly for the Line Cook position.



POSITION TITLE: LINE COOK

DEPARTMENT: Culinary

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To prepare all hot/cold food items. Be responsible for consistency and quality production and ensure all food is served according to specification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain kitchen sanitation in accordance with health department guidelines.

• Insure station is set for service 30 minutes prior to service.

• Required to learn all menu items produced by assigned station.

• Perform work assignments to meet proper quantities within a necessary time frame.

• Refrigeration and serving of cold food.

• Production of orders.

• Prepare food items for daily service to ensure the highest quality of food is served daily.

• Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times.

• Other duties may be assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience--
• 3 yrs. experience in fast paced, culinary environment preferred.

Language Skills—
• Ability communicates effectively and professionally with other departments, guests, and others in English.
• Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

Physical Ability—
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per day.

Other—
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Display basic knife skills.
• Experience with food preparation and handling.
• Ability to compute basic arithmetic and to comprehend and follow recipes with the appropriate cooking techniques.
• Must be able to communication effectively.
• Must have CA Food handling certificate.
