FT AM Rooftop Server
Description
Bohemian Boutique Hotel in West Hollywood seeks a well groomed, do it all, creative, fast moving and generally interesting individual to fill the position of our AM rooftop server. We are looking for a loyal, full time employee. Someone who is excited to work 5:30am-Noon because they love being a part of the sunrise in Los Angeles and having the rest of their day available to them afterwards. If mornings are not your thing, please look elsewhere!
An 80 all-suite hotel, featuring a Private Rooftop with a Garden, indoor/ outdoor lounge spaces, a saltwater pool and 360 degree views of the Hollywood hills -- our hotel attracts an eclectic, elegant and largely European clientele. We operate on the premise that excellent customer service can be delivered to our guests while our staff maintains a familial, respectful, positive and fun working environment.
Our ideal candidate possess an excellent work ethic, a positive attitude and a natural aptitude for absorbing new information quickly. Servers do a lot of everything here, so a willingness to jump in when needed is a must. Understanding of wine, spirits and cocktails is required. If you understand fine dining service, but have an interest in "letting your hair down" and participating in something more warm, intimate and creative - this is the place for you.
As a rooftop server, you will assist with the setting up of the rooftop, guiding guests through the variety of paths they can take with us during their stay/meal, introducing them to our Yoga instructor Omar, running food/drinks overseeing both the pool and garden dining areas.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
•High school diploma; some college preferred.
•Minimum 4 yrs. experience in food and beverage industry
•Prior experience within a full-service hotel property is preferred
Language Skills:
•Ability to read, write, and verbally communicates effectively and professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors in English.
•Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
•Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
Physical Ability:
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
•The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone.
•The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Other:
•Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
•Must be able to communication effectively.
•Previous guest relations training.
