San Francisco Proper Hotel is seeking an Assistant General Manager for our Food & Beverage Outlets.

 

What follows is a general overview of some of the qualifications for, and duties associated with, this position, and certain expectations regarding job performance. The AGM, Outlets reports to the Director of Food & Beverage and the Director of Outlets & Training.


Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for guest needs and service in Outlet and related areas of the hotel
  • Floor leader first, supporting the team on the floor to ensure an exceptional guest experience is the number one importance
  • Collaborate with team on decisions pertaining to Outlet offerings
  • Lead with humility and an openminded approach
  • Understanding that collaboration is key to the success and longevity in this role, and a team mindset is always expected
  • Ensure cleanliness, excellent service, and guest satisfaction as well as the appearance and upkeep in F&B outlets.
  • Manage the team by working in conjunction with management to train, develop, coach, and discipline floor staff.
  • Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.
  • Research and develop strategies and plans which identify revenue opportunities.
  • Analyze operational deficiencies and review with F&B Leaders to create action plans to address problem areas.
  • Oversees and ensures the accurate and timely submission of F&B front of house’s payroll, including timecard monitoring and correcting daily.
  • Ensures staff adherence to service standards, performance, and conduct per company standards and employee handbook/SOPs.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations; retraining or disciplining team as needed.
  • Develops and maintains effective communications between all operating departments within the Hotel.
  • Identify training gaps and compose/execute plans with clear objectives, outcomes, and follow-up measurements for both colleagues and managers
  • Capable to work independently, being proactive in making recommendations to leadership about operations and training.
  • Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance, and salary reviews.


Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience
Over 5 years of hospitality experience, and 2 years of previous experience in a similar position preferred


Licenses or Certificates: Responsible Beverage Service Certification Required and California Food Handlers Certificate Required

 

Per San Francisco City Ordinance, candidates must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to be considered for this position.
