Position: Food Runner

Department/Outlet: Service

Leader: Department Supervisor

Responsibilities:

− Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
− Ensure the guests have understood what is being served to them by making eye contact.
− Collect food from the kitchen pass area, checking the items not available, return to the guest who ordered and carry out your sequence of service.
− Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to waiter/ waitress as needed.
− Communicate with waiter/waitress and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
− Assist waiter/waitress as needed with food delivery, especially during peak hours.
− Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
− Prepares soups, salads and bread & butter for the servers during peak hours.  
− Follow direction from the Chef.
− Establish communication at all time with the culinary department.
− Report for duty punctually wearing the proper, assigned attire and in dress code.
− To attend training and meetings as and when required.
− Undertake any reasonable task and secondary duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
− Knowledge of all the ingredient details of every dish on the menu.
− Delivering food to guest quickly and efficiently.
− Communicating clearly with the kitchen and front of house staff.
− Describe dishes to customers.
− Possess in-depth knowledge of products, menu, food and general information of restaurant and company.
− Properly set-up stations as listed.
− Provide professional and exceptional guest service
o Delivering, in a timely manner, prepared food to designated stations and tables.
o Table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware.
o Clear empty dirty plates from table.
− Perform shift “running” and closing side work as described.
− Additional duties as assigned my management.

− Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
