RASA is a new Indian Fast Casual restaurant that is bringing the adventurous flavors of Indian cuisine to Washington, DC in a creative way. We are a locally-owned small business that opened up six months ago in the Navy Yard in SE. Since opening, we've been voted DC's Best Fast Casual Restaurant and Best New Restaurant of 2018, and are looking to bring on more talented, creative, upbeat, positive, hardworking and fun-loving people onto our squad as we grow.
At RASA, we serve chef-driven, local, seasonal, and healthful food. In food and in life, we don’t believe in toning down the spice. Life in flavor is more fun, so we live life to the fullest, and are looking for squad members who do too. We know that our squad is the most important ingredient to our success, and as such, we are looking to bring on the best.
At RASA, our squad works hard, plays hard, contributes to our communities, and helps one other achieve our shared goals of providing awesome service to our guests, sharing delicious meals, and making the most of each moment. Attitude is more important than experience here, as we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful. We’re a start-up restaurant, and we’ll be making adjustments on the fly. To help you keep up and make sure it’s a good fit for both sides, we’ve included some expectations below.
Squad Member Expectations
- Welcome guests into the restaurant as if your own home, and help educate them on our food, flavors, and philosophy
- Be a team player, check egos at the door, be flexible, and willing to chip in wherever and whenever needed
- Learn how to craft our meals by following recipes and proper procedures
- Stay cool as a cucumber, even when it gets hot in the kitchen
- Stock and restock stations and help put away deliveries
- Keep stations organized and the restaurant clean
- Comply with all food + health safety, kitchen machinery, and sanitation procedures
While prior food experience is always a plus, we’re looking for people with good vibes, and hire based on personality, positivity, and a willingness to learn.
RASA Requirements
- Ability to play well with others and work well in teams
- 18 Years or Older
- Ability to communicate with our guests in English
- Desire to learn and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move at least 40 pounds regularly
- Attention to detail and willingness to take direction and learn
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Able to tolerate potential allergens including nuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, and shellfish
