The Role 

We have incredibly ambitious growth plans, for which this role is vital. The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for working within the Property Team, to manage the costs associated with the new venue development programme from site identification, acquisition, through to completion and handover to the FM and Operations Team. The SQS will assist through the build process and help manage design teams, contractors, suppliers and multiple external parties, to ensure venues are developed on budget and on time. 


Key Accountibilities will include:

  • Estimating and cost planning duties to improve the acquisition process and design development phase
  • Working with both the Property Team and Finance Team to provide an end-to-end cost management approach to our projects from initial site finding to capturing final cost data
  • Offering procurement and cost advice to enable the business to robustly value engineer our projects, as we scale up; Tender document preparation (including quantification) and reporting 
  • Managing the financial aspects of all ‘Direct Contract’ appointments and improving the current systems
  • Maintaining accurate cost records, information and data 
  • Providing Contract and dispute advice as required
  • Final Account preparation and reporting; maintaining and developing cost data to aid future cost planning 

To be successful in this role, you’ll:  

  • Have 5+ years of relevant post-qualification UK commercial experience; Contractor orientated skills an advantage.  
  • Be Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a similar technical discipline. 
  • Be MRICS / MCIOB qualified or pushing to achieve Chartership.  
  • Have Leisure / Hospitality ‘fit-out’ experience 
  • Be commercially and contractually aware of relevant project matters.  
  • Have a proven knowledge of the UK Construction industry and quantity surveying best practice and innovation.  
  • Be able to demonstrate working independently with external contractors, consultants and suppliers, of all levels.  
  • Be able to travel throughout the UK with occasional over-night trips.
