Description
We’re looking for passionate people to join us for the summer season. As Bar Tender you'll join our front of house team at The Cornish Arms in St Merryn and you will play a key role in looking after our customers.
Our front of house team ensure that our customers have the best service throughout their visit and you will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure all orders are correct, that the bar is run effectively and that any customer questions are answered.
This is initially a seasonal role and the rate of pay for this role is £8.72 per hour (£8.20 if you are under 25) plus tips.
WHAT YOU’LL BE GETTING UP TO:
- Running the bar in an efficient way and processing orders on the till
- All the usual things like taking orders and serving food and drink
- Interacting with guests and demonstrating excellent customer care
- Ensuring high standards are maintained and our restaurant looks its best at all times
- Recommending menu options and wine pairings to our guests
- Working the still area, making hot beverages and preparing cutlery and side plates for service
- Ensuring all areas of the bar are clean and replenished in time for opening and the next service

In the summer guests can sit outside in the fresh Cornish air and enjoy some of St Austell Brewery’s best ales and a great selection of wines, or cosy up by our log fires in the colder weather with some comfort food.
