Legal Executive - Residential Property

Description

Title:   Legal Executive - Residential Property

Type:  12-month fixed term contract

Level:  Manager

Salary: Competitive

About the Role:

This newly created role is key to Riverstone’s success in delivering apartment sales for our first two Residences in Fulham and Kensington, which will be setting a new standard and new expectations for over 65’s living the life they want to live in London.

You will manage the end-to-end conveyancing process, with the objective of progressing reservations through to exchange and then legal completion, ensuring that buying a Riverstone apartment becomes a reality for our clients.

Working in close partnership with our sales team and legal advisors, this is a high demand role with a high-volume workload.  The ability to multi-task, prioritise and effectively communicate with internal and external parties is key.

You need to have a minimum of 2-3 years legal experience in residential conveyancing. You are looking for an in-house role that you can make your own, take full accountability for and will challenge you to grow, as we grow.

This role reports directly to Head of Legal and will be the second person to join our in-house legal team. The majority of your workload will be focused on residential conveyancing management, however there will be scope for you to be involved in the wide range of work that a small legal team in a dynamic growing business expects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing an exceptional client experience throughout the conveyancing process
  • Proactive transaction management of all Riverstone’s apartment sales, working in close partnership with Riverstone’s Chief Commercial Officer, Client Managers and Head of Legal and external lawyers to progress reservations through to successful exchange of contracts
  • Coordinating input from Riverstone’s sales, commercial and development teams to deliver timely responses to buyers’ enquiries and acting as the primary point of contact for external lawyers
  • Anticipating potential areas of risk and matters of importance, taking a proactive approach in addressing these and escalating important issues, as necessary
  • Managing all internal and external transaction reporting

Who we are looking for:

Key Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Legal Practice Course (LPC) successfully completed and/or extensive residential conveyancing experience (3+ years)
  • Minimum 2-3 years legal experience in residential conveyancing
  • Ability to make sound legal and commercial decisions
  • Experience of managing a high-volume workload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable but not essential:

  • Qualified property lawyer with extensive residential conveyancing experience
  • Experience working in a business with a strong growth strategy
  • Strong desire to take ownership of managing the end-to-end residential conveyancing process

Personal Qualities:

Our team members are who make Riverstone work, the personal qualities we look for in a person allow them to thrive within our business:

  • Team Player, confident, self-starter, diligent and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively within the Riverstone team
  • Genuine interest in and passion for residential conveyancing and the retirement living sector
  • Strong desire to progress and develop as the business grows
  • Ability to self-organise, manage and prioritise a high volume workload and hit deadlines
  • Ability to network and influence across a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
Who we are:

At Riverstone, we know that living the life you want to live means 1,000 different things to a 1,000 different people. And that’s as true of the 65+ age group as any other.

Even though over 65s are London’s fastest growing population group, there are few options that enable them to live independently in desirable areas. Demand is growing and solutions must be found.

Riverstone is addressing the needs of a new generation of older Londoners with a best-in-class product that will extend and enhance the independent lifestyles they enjoy while allowing them to stay in the neighbourhoods they love and enabling them to live the life they want to live.

We’re setting a new standard and creating new expectations. Living in their own stunning apartments in prestigious central locations, our residents will benefit from first-class facilities, a like-minded community, hotel-like hospitality and - when needed - highly personalised, discreet care.

Riverstone is a mature start up backed by Goldman Sachs and has plans to create a series of new developments), establishing a portfolio upwards of ten sites in prime London locations, starting with prestigious developments on Fulham’s riverside and another in Kensington.
