“It all began in my kitchen” – Sarabeth

 Sarabeth’s began as a tiny bakery-kitchen in 1981 where Sarabeth Levine sold her preserves and baked goods. Quickly gaining popularity, the store began to serve breakfast and lunch, along with the original preserves and baked goods that landed Sarabeth’s on the map.

 Today, Sarabeth’s has four locations in Manhattan and several others around the world. Renowned for our popular brunch, we have also become well admired for our take on contemporary American cuisine at dinner, lively happy hours, and private events.  We take great pride in creating a memorable experience for each guest with genuine hospitality and exceptional cuisine.

The Opportunity:

Porters/dish washers are responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the interior and exterior of the restaurant, the cleaning and restocking of cookware, as well as cleaning any parts of the restaurant during service in a timely manner. Porters also aid in the prepping of ingredients to ensure smooth service operations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ensuring dishes and cutlery are washed during service
• Sets up service workstations thoroughly and on time and properly use and maintain all equipment
  
• Cleans and sets up FOH departments including: dining rooms, bar area and guest bathrooms 
• Cleans and sets up BOH departments including: kitchens, trash and compost room, wine storage, staff locker room, bathrooms 
• Assist cooks with prepping of ingredients, as directed by the chef

• A minimum 1 year of experience in a well-rated restaurant.
• A spirit of cooperation with co-workers and managers. 
• Ability to learn how to safely use and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Ability to learn, understand, and execute hygiene and safety rules. 
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, carry up to 40 pounds, walk and stand for shift duration. 
• Organized, clean, self-sufficient, and capable of working fast. 
• Commitment to maintaining availability that aligns with needs of the business
