 Sarabeth’s began as a tiny bakery-kitchen in 1981 where Sarabeth Levine sold her preserves and baked goods. Quickly gaining popularity, the store began to serve breakfast and lunch, along with the original preserves and baked goods that landed Sarabeth’s on the map.

 Today, Sarabeth’s has four locations in Manhattan and several others around the world. Renowned for our popular brunch, we have also become well admired for our take on contemporary American cuisine at dinner, lively happy hours, and private events.  We take great pride in creating a memorable experience for each guest with genuine hospitality and exceptional cuisine.

 

The Opportunity

Runners are responsible for assisting guests throughout the shift, including running food and drinks, refilling water glasses and ensuring all orders are delivered accurately and in a timely fashion as well as being available to guests and supporting the servers to ensure all dining needs met.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist all team members in providing excellent service and ensuring guest satisfaction. 
  • Ability to call tickets, expedite food from window, read tickets, match food to tickets, garnish, communicate effectively with all team members. 
  • Run plates, execute table numbers and position numbers, serve and introduce food at the table. 
  • Follow steps of service. Practice effective coursing of tickets and coordinate table maintenance. 
  • Set up, shift maintenance, and breakdown of expo station. 
  • Keep the restaurant clean, stocked, organized, and visually appealing.  Maintaining health and safety regulations in all work areas and the dining room.  
  • Greeting every guest, you interact with in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Offering assistance and accommodating guest requests whenever possible.
  • Offering a warm farewell and thank you to every guest as they leave the restaurant.
  • Immediately notifying management of any guest complaints, including any interactions with a guest that lead you to believe that the guest is not 100% happy with their visit.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • A minimum 1 year of food runner experience in a well-rated restaurant.
  • Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize while remaining calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of hygiene and safety rules. 
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, run a minimum of 3 plates simultaneously, carry up to 50 pounds, walk and stand for shift duration. 
  • Commitment to maintaining availability that aligns with needs of the business

Compensation: $15/hr
