Scarpetta Restaurant, LDV Hospitality's modern, seasonal Italian spot in the Flatiron District, seeks a talented, personable, knowledgeable Sommelier who is eager to work with Italian wines in a rarefied dining environment. Scarpetta is a large restaurant where speed and efficiency are the key to success. We are seeking someone who carries a passion for what they do throughout their work.

Summary of Position: Sommelier is responsible for recommending wine varieties to our guests, supervising wine service, and collaborating with wine-makers to renew our selections and achieve better pricing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recommend appropriate wine pairing for all meal service and bar service as requested
• Maintain, update, and count wine inventory weekly
• Keep wine cellars/storage clean and free from debris
• Serve wine according to the standards set forth by LDV Hospitality
Use of various stemware and glassware aligned to correct drink as per LDV hospitality standards
• Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests
• Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
• Follow and adhere to all standards set for by the Department of Health (DOH) and appropriate Federal/State Liquor Control Boards
• Performs other related activities as assigned by management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Sommelier training or minimum of 2 years' experience as a Sommelier in fine dining restaurants is required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Hospitality Administration is preferred, but not required
- NYC Food Handlers Certification
