The Seahorse Events chef 

 An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated events Chef at The Seahorse, in Dartmouth, South Devon. 

 You will lead the start up and operations of the events team at the Seahorse, helping to establishing the new “ Al Mare” brand , a beach club style mobile restaurant experience that can be set up in guests homes and at unique locations.

 We are an Award Winning Restaurant achieving the highly prestigious “Top Restaurant in the UK” at the Observer Food Monthly Awards and “Best Seafood Restaurant in the UK” by the Good Food guide. The Seahorse is situated on the banks of the River Dart in Dartmouth, where we’re lucky enough to have some of the best fish and shellfish landed in the world.

 This is a hands on role, you will be reporting directly to the Head Chef and General Manager of the Seahorse who will be working with you. You will be leading the operation of events including all planning, set up, preparation & execution.

 This is an exciting role for an experienced chef wanting to break out of the kitchen routine and apply their skills to an exceptional and unique catering service that meets our high standards.

 You will gain insightful knowledge into our cooking and ways of service and will be a key ambassador for the restaurant, its standards and its values.

 We will support you at all times to achieve our goals and you will be part of an ambitious, friendly and collaborative team.

 What we require from you: 

● To be able to work weekends and evenings and be flexible due to the planned events 

● have previous hospitality experience at Exec, Head or Sous chef level 

● Enthusiasm and willingness to work hard and learn new cooking techniques 

● Hold a clean drivers' licence and own your car or live locally

● Ability to work under pressure and deliver the Seahorse standards at all times through cooking ability and service levels 

● Excellent Punctuality and smart appearance

Able to think on feet and find solutions to any problems that should arise 

-Have the relevant organisational skills to run a busy service and be able to organise and event for up to 40 people.

  • Have relevant experience in calculating costs
  • Have relevant experience in planning and managing labour
