Maintenance Gardener

Petersham House has a large and varied formal garden with wild herbaceous borders that change dramatically with the seasons. The grounds contain lawns, topiary, a kitchen garden, courtyards, a conservatory and an orchard area. There are beehives on site as well as chickens and dogs. There are also gardens for cut and edible flowers to supply Petersham Nurseries Café. The main cutting garden sits within the Nurseries and acts as a showcase for seasonal British-grown flowers.

 The Site Gardening team are looking for a Maintenance Gardener to join them on a full-time basis. The role would be varied and requires a range of skills to cover the many aspects of the garden.

Principal Accountabilities

•  Helping to maintain the lawns using a variety of mowers including a large cylinder mower
• Strimming and edging beds and borders.
• Sweeping, weeding and pressure washing the paths and courtyards
• Hedge cutting
• Mulching
• Weeding
• Site maintenance

• Adhere to Company dress code, attendance and time keeping standards (clocking in & out of the Harri app).
• Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policy & Code of Conduct Standards.

 Other

•  Please note this is a physically demanding role.
• A clean UK driver's license would also be an advantage.
