Location Manager - Capitol Riverfront 

Position Description 

Slipstream is looking for a leader with a passion for hospitality to help execute our innovative cafe program. The Location Manager will oversee an entire Slipstream cafe and help the location reach its full potential. This Location Manager will be responsible for building and cultivating a quality team, ensuring a comfortable environment built on hospitality, engaging the local community, maintaining operational organization and helping Slipstream as a whole grow every day. 

At Slipstream, our goal is to bring efficient and engaging service to coffee, food, and cocktails. Ideal candidates for this position must find value in serving others, maintain a welcoming and spotless working environment and have a passion for continued learning. On the whole, we hope our team is a diverse group with an array of interests and hobbies, a passion for tasting, and excitement for generating creative ideas. 

Summary Responsibilities: 

● Lead the Front of House and Back of House teams (in collaboration with Chef) both in attitude and in necessary task completion 

● Manage a team of approx 10-12 employees, including shift leads and entry level staff via high-structure, high-impact one-on-one dialogues 

● Regularly work shifts behind the bar, assisting staff during busy days, covering missed shifts, modeling best practices in hospitality and quality, and staying connected to the team and daily operations 

● Manage employee schedules, initial training, performance management, and ongoing learning and development 

● Coordinate seamless experience for guests between coffee, food, and cocktail service 

● Improve operations by enforcing policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring quality products, and elevating service standards 

● Attract guests by developing and implementing marketing and community engagement programs including tastings and events on- and off-site 

● Monitor guest satisfaction by evaluating and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings and building relationships with guests 

● Collaborate with Location Managers at other Slipstream locations to ensure brand consistency in products and hospitality 

● Manage labor, supplies, and beverage/food cost to budget 

Position Requirements: 

● Passion for learning and desire to improve our ability to find guests the right drink every time they come in the door 

● Ability to lead and development a team, passion to support and grow the team, and willingness to work within Slipstream guidelines for regular check-ins and one-on-ones with team

● Enthusiasm for hospitality and improving the guest experience 

● Strong desire to collaborate and work with others

● Ability to communicate both in person and through platforms like Asana to team members in all company roles 

● An eye for detail as it relates to shop organization, cleanliness, ordering, and product tracking 

● 2+ years retail/hospitality management experience, including scheduling and managing labor 

● Full time position with weekend and evening work required 

Compensation: 

● Salary starting at $50k; can increase based on experience 

● Health and Dental insurance contribution 

● Paid Time Off
