Smashburger Restaurant General Manager Responsibilities

  • Create a culture within your district that fosters the willingness to work, learn and grow, has enthusiasm and diversity

  • Motivate, coach and develop a team to create future leaders

  • Maintain accurate staffing levels at all times

  • Lead and motivate the restaurant team during a shift to ensure that every guest has a memorable, Gold Standard experience

  •  Deliver high quality, attractive food made according to Smashburger Gold Standards

  • Monitor and controls daily food cost

  • Manage inventory and ordering processes to ensure an adequate level of product and supplies

  • Continue to maintain and build sales for your restaurant 

  • Follow all Smashburger standard operating procedures and guidelines

  • Maintain proper employee records and documentation per company standards and federal, state and local ordinances

  • Maintain budget and optimize expenses by managing restaurants P&L on a weekly/monthly bases. 

  • Follow proper sanitation and cleanliness standards in the restaurant to fulfill health requirements and Smashburger standards


Smashburger Restaurant General Manager Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience as a General Manager within the restaurant and/or hospitality industry

  • Must be able to successfully complete food and alcohol safety certification programs

  • Proven ability to hire, train and develop team members

  • Proven ability to drive sales and guest service initiatives by motivating and leading team members

  • Must possess a sense of urgency, enjoy fast paced environment, and guest service focus

  • Ability to understand and analyze financial profit and loss statements, food cost, inventory, food safety, and sanitation requirements


“Must be Actively Employed and in good standing at the time of payment (“$2,500 received following successful completion of 6-week training program and final $2,500 received after successful 90 days of employment following completion of training program”) to receive a bonus. “Actively Employed” means any period when the employee is receiving a regular payroll check from the Company. Employees shall not be eligible to receive the Bonus—prorated or otherwise in the events: (A) employee voluntarily resigns his / her employment prior to a Bonus Payment Date; or (B) the Company terminates employee’s employment prior to the Bonus Payment Date. Bonus shall be subject federal and state laws, rules and regulations including regular withholding for taxes and other legally required and / or allowed deductions. The Bonus does not constitute a guarantee of employment for any period of any time. Employment is atwill and either the employee or the Company may terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause. This Bonus does not create a contract of employment, express or implied.”
