What does your role bring to the table?

The Restaurant Designer will provide leadership and direction for the layout and design of new Snoozes and the remodels of existing locations.  This Snoozer plays a key role in coordinating all design program elements into an operational restaurant environment, providing an excellent, fun, vibrant eatery where our Guests and Snoozers are proud to spend their mornings.  You will be responsible for various aspects of Snooze’s restaurant design, which requires great organizational skills, an eagerness to learn, and leadership skills to manage a team of architects and engineers.  This role is a valuable contributor to Snooze’s growth, you will help share Snooze with the world!

The Position specifics!

Taking on the role of the Restaurant Designer isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Responsible for the functional layout, schematic design, and furniture/material/finish palettes for new and remodeled restaurants
  • Manage outside architectural firms to ensure the timely deliverable of design development and construction drawings
  • Monitor the work quality of the architect consultants to ensure they deliver high-quality construction documents that comply with architectural and quality standards, building codes and health and safety regulations, on time and on budget
  • Ensure that restaurant layouts and designs are compliant with all applicable codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure projects meet internal timelines and construction budgets, hit targeted new store and remodel counts, and achieve revenue weeks goals
  • Research and recommend alternate options for materials and furnishings
  • Support and contribute ideas to Snooze’s design strategy, focusing on impacting Guests’ visual and physical experience
  • Other roles and responsibilities may be required to meet the needs and priorities of the business

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field of study
  • 3+ years of design experience in a restaurant or retail setting
  • 3+ years of managing outside architectural, MEP, and/or design consultants
  • Proficient with CAD/Revit and overall strong computer skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Let’s get physical! (additional requirements)

  • Must have the stamina to work 45 to 55 hours per week
  • The travel required for this position is approximately 15% and you must be able to travel for up to 5 days at one time (air, car, bus. Train, and weekend travel all required)
  • Homebase is in Denver, CO at the Snooze Mothership (remote work available)

The Nitty Gritty Details

 Denver area base salary range: $70,000-$90,000 per year (bonus + equity eligible)

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
