What does your role bring to the table?


The Senior Manager of People and Culture is the champion of the Snooze culture. By supporting, designing, and implementing programs, tools, systems, and procedures that put Snoozers and our Guest first, Snooze will be able to grow an everlasting People First culture. This role partners with the business to support all things Snoozer Experience, including Snoozer Relations, compliance, diversity programs, people metrics and dashboards, health and wellness programs, and the entire Snoozer Circle of Life (a.k.a. the employee lifecycle). This person will play a significant role in the future of Snooze. You will join a team of people-focused, culture-rich food lovers who are responsible for maintaining a strong culture through seasons of growth and expansion.


The Position Specifics!


Taking on the role of Senior Manager of People and Culture isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Oversee and execute the administrative tasks associated with the entire Life Cycle of a Snoozer, including but not limited to: recruitment, retention, on-boarding, off-boarding, and exit interviews
  • Recruits, interviews, hires and trains all new Snoozers on-boarded onto the Snoozer Experience team
  • Coaches, develops, leads, inspires and motivates direct reports and manages the workflow of the team
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership 
  • Manage, execute and resolve all employee relations issues in collaboration with organizational leadership and Regional Managers. Create resolutions for company-wide employee relations issues
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws at all levels of the organization and implement change or updates when needed and must be able to lead and stay ahead of the ever-changing legal landscape
  • Facilitates the Snooze legislative update process – including annual updates and off-cycle legal and legislative updates
  • Assist in the management, execution and deliverables for all legal and employment law cases or suits
  • Create, evolve and update the Eggspectations of Excellence handbook once per year
  • Implement and annually update job descriptions for all levels of the organization
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action programs, EEO-1 reporting and compliance, and assist with diversity training and programming
  • Owns the Monthly People Dashboard – collects data, creates and distributes the monthly dashboard
  • Collaborate to conduct Mothership Snoozer orientations and onboarding experiences
  • Collaborate with and lead all benefits administration, design, compliance, and ACA management.
  • Collaborate with Senior Vice President of People and Culture and Director of People and Culture on all Snoozer retention, engagement, and inspiration strategies for all levels of the organization
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers around necessary HR-related practices and employee relations issues with the ability to hold high-level leaders accountable to appropriate practices
  • Maintain connection with the restaurants and the Snoozer Experience via on-the-job days once per month
  • Collaborate with Director of People and Culture to meet all department goals
  • Other responsibilities may be established based on company goals and priorities

  • Experience managing HR compliance programs and processes. 
  • Experience owning, investigating, and tracking employee relations issues, ultimately partnering with the business to assess risk and provide guidance on coaching, discipline and/or terminations. 
  • General knowledge and use of HRIS systems and processes.
  • Ability to create and analyze HR data which supports the growth and development of the business and our Snoozers.
  • Desire and ability to think big, always seeking new and better ideas for finding great Snoozers and enhancing the Snoozer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through complex business issues and identify, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint. 
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge required to perform complex calculations, merge data from multiple tables/sources, and scrub data.

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  • 6+ years Human Resources experience with 3+ years in an HR management/leadership role
  • 2+ years of experience investigating and managing employee relations is required
  • Experience extracting, analyzing, sharing, and presenting HR data
  • 3+ years managing HR compliance programs and processes
  • 2+ years of experience in hospitality or restaurant human resource’s role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Human Resources Management Certification (HRCI or SHRM) preferred
  • Multi-state compliance experience with California experience preferred

  • Must have the stamina to work 50-55 hours per week
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings, as needed
  • Required travel of 20% and ability to travel up to 5 days at one time (air, bus, train and weekend travel required)
  • Home base in Denver, CO at the Snooze Mothership (remote working options available)

The Nitty Gritty Details

 

Denver area base salary range: $90,000 -$110,000 per year


The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
