Base Officer


Description
The Soho Grand Hotel is looking for a reliable and organized Base Officer to ensure the safety and security of hotel guests, team members, the building premises and all property therein. The Base Officer will conduct access control, equipment inventory, patrols, incident investigation and reporting. He/she will handle shipping & receiving functions and perform the functions of NYC Deputy Fire Safety Director monitoring all fire & life safety systems in addition to assisting with all applicable guest inquiries and requests.

Essential Functions:

Respond to, investigate and report all security incidents. Issue employee keys, radios and equipment. Log all incoming packages and lost & found items, and handle item distribution and return. Patrol building premises and monitor all security & life safety systems. Conduct/assist with evacuation measures during an emergency. Train building fire brigade members.

Peripheral Functions:

Provide guests with superior customer service. Handle and respond to all telephone and email inquiries. Assist with dead room moves and check-outs. Distribute employee packages, paychecks and MetroCards. Assist with VIP security, event, and contractor functions.

Requirements:

Computer literate - proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Micros Opera and/or GoConcierge a plus
Experience with Saflok, Vingcard, or Win-Pak systems a plus
Flexible schedule is a necessity

Work History: At least three years of experience in hospitality, housing, or facility security.

Education: New York State Security Guard License
FDNY Fire Safety Director (F58) Certification
FDNY Fire Guard (F01) License preferred
CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred
