Summary

The Director of Sales (DOS) will manage and oversee an event sales team as well as manage all sales efforts of the department. This position will execute strategic plans and mentor/motivate their sales team to meet and exceed all sales goals and budgets. The DOS, will be responsible for meeting aggressive personal sales as well as the overall team goal.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding established benchmarks and personal and team budgets.
  • Responsible for knowledge of the market and using said knowledge to uncover opportunities and analyze trends.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in an effort to develop long-lasting partnerships, as well as develop internal relationships within the company.
  • Set the standard for best sales practices.
  • Communicate and execute strategic plans to achieve all sales targets.
  • Understanding of how to position SPIN atop competitors.
  • Responsible for leading sales efforts and be able translate that leadership into overall revenue from your market segment.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with the General Manager with a dotted-line to the VP, Global Sales.
  • Understand and embrace the SPIN Blueprint and ensure that all team members do the same.
  • Ability to interview and hire strong team members, when necessary.
  • Lead and motivate team to offer the best in customer service for all clients.
  • Develop long term sales goals
  • Play ping pong and have fun!!

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years sales experience with a minimum of 2–5 years in a sales leadership position, preferably in the hospitality industry with experience in event sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven leadership with a verifiable track record for exceeding revenue goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience with team development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Experience with booking software platforms such as Seven Rooms & TripleSeat
