SUMMARY & MISSION

To interact with guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the restaurant. Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive to guests, needs and making them feels welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. To be fully knowledgeable about all beverages and ensure they are served correctly and of the highest standard.
2. Follow opening and closing procedure and be aware of any changes made to the procedures
3. Ensure the bar is ready for service each shift and product levels and cleanliness are maintained throughout service.
4. To place requisitions and collect alcoholic beverages to replenish the bar
5. To place orders on request of your head bartender or bar manager
6. To take deliveries and validate they are correct.
7. Ensure high standards of service and excellent customer service.
8. Stock take will be carried out on a weekly and monthly basis or on request from management.
9. Cash handling - Ensure the correct procedures are carried out of following tasks:
a) Sales over counter
b) Charging the customer the correct amount
c) Cash up
d) PDQ transactions are correct
e) Tips are collected and reconciled by the person in charge of tips.
10. Be aware of changes made to the menu and follow all standards of service.
11. Be aware of all legal requirements and the effect alcohol has on people. Follow the instructions and documents given by the company and under no circumstances jeopardise restaurant reputation within the community, municipality, or venue itself.
12. Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. as needed.
13. Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
14. Responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards in the outlet and upkeep of all service equipment.
15. Performs related duties and others as may be assigned by Bar Manager.
16. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform.
17. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
18. To attend training and meetings as and when required.
19. Undertake any reasonable task and secondary duties as assigned by the General Manager.
