American Gonzo Food Corp. is hiring a Culinary Director!

American Gonzo Food Corp, the innovative restaurant development and operations company located in Venice, California is seeking a Culinary Director. Our family of restaurants includes Superba Food + Bread in Venice, Superba Snacks + Coffee in Pasadena and North Hollywood, American Beauty and The Win-Dow in Venice, as well as Pitfire Artisan Pizzas throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.

We are seeking a creative and passionate person, committed to upholding and enhancing our food standards and role modeling our values. Must possess an owner’s mentality when operating the business, a strong level of financial acumen, and excellent communication and organizational skills. This is a tactical and strategic position, and the right candidate will enjoy hands on work equally to development and planning.

Responsibilities:

• Menu development (existing and new, as well as retail).
• Ensures compliance to all kitchen-operating standards.
• Monitors restaurant and company expenditures and drives consistent or improving results.
• Maintains food recipes for execution and cost accuracy.
• Leads Chef recruitment, hiring, onboarding and maintains Kitchen Staff and Manager training programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Industry Experience
• 10+ years of accomplished experience in various food and beverage environments
• Multi-unit management experience
• Commissary and bakery experience
• Previous Management experience in large scale, fast-paced environments
• Led a deep and diverse workforce of management and frontline personnel
