Lead Automation QA

Description

At KFC, our platform has constantly evolved to make it as easy as possible to order our great chicken.  We brought our development in-house four years ago which has helped to drive collaboration and innovation.  Here at KFC, we empower people to be their best self, make a difference and have fun.

Think you can only buy our chicken in-store at our restaurants?!  Think again!  We’ve created a fast, simple omnichannel experience to help people order and get their food in the way that is most convenient to them, whether that be through our app to collect service via the front counter or drive-thru, in-store kiosk integrations, or fully integrated aggregator delivery (Deliveroo, JustEat, UberEats etc) and there’s more to come.  KFC’s digital technology stack has grown to process nearly half of the transactions processed through our restaurants, so we are looking for people to help drive these developments and keep everything ticking… so no-one misses their chicken.

We want everything that’s built to not only be fit for purpose but work well, so we test everything rigorously from inception to being released to our customers.  We currently use a mix of manual and automation testing but we’re looking to drive more automation across all parts of the business to help improve quality and efficiencies and as the Lead, it will be part of your role to help influence this change.

You will be leading the team but also be hands-on in testing across all our platforms including, but not limited to, our mobile apps (iOS and Android), websites and third-party integrations.  Part of leading the team, will be coaching and mentoring the other QAs helping their talent to grow, as well as your own.

We use a lot of different Testing tools so are quite open in what your experience is with but some key tools for us include

  • Selenium WebDriver; TestCafe; Nightwatch and Cypress
  • Utilising Postman and creation of automation frameworks for API tests within Node.js, such as Mocha/Chai

We use React on our front-end and Node.js on our back-end, within a Serverless environment (AWS), so experience with JavaScript is ideal, but we’re happy to support your learning if you don’t have it.
You can read more about our tech stack here:  https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/architecture/the-technology-behind-kfcs-finger-lickin-good-success/

Whilst we’re one of the world’s biggest and most loved brands, we’re still a small tech team of around 50 people (and growing!) so it’s a great environment to get exposure to lots of different projects.  Everyone gets to contribute and collaborate so you should be comfortable discussing and challenging ideas with other QAs, Developers, Scrum Masters, DevOps Engineers and Designers.
