Food and Beverage Manger

The Palace Hotel in Paignton is renowned locally for offering and efficient and professional service, with 55 tastefully decorated bedrooms, many with sea views. Our extensive food and wine menu provides the perfect dining experience for our guests and local residents alike. This 3* property is a real gem located on the main Paignton Seafront so is a hive of activity year-round.

As the Food and Beverage Manager you will be responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent guest experience. You will forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finance. The goal is to maximise sales and revenue through guest satisfaction and employee engagement.

Location: The Palace Hotel, Esplanade Road, Paignton, Devon, TQ4 6BJ

Your role:

  • Take responsibility for the business performance of the Food & Beverage area

  • Create and execute plans for department sales, profit and staff development.

  • Plan and coordinate menus, working closely with the head chef.

  • Coordinate the operation of the Food & Beverage ensuring that kitchen, bar and waiting staff are working as a team.

  • Recruit, train, manage and motivate staff.

  • Respond to guest queries and complaints.

  • Meet and greet guests, organise table reservations and offer advice about menu and wine choices.

  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.

  • Check stock levels, order supplies and prepare cash drawers and petty cash.

  • Comply with licensing laws and other legal requirements.

  • Process payroll and maintain all relevant records.

  • Follow and implement all existing S.O.P.’s.

  • Control and coordinate your team accordingly to the occupancy.

  • Attention to detail on all aspects of the job.

  • Control of the existing operational equipment

  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence.

  • Ensure the smooth running of the events and functions.

  • To be responsible for the smooth running and the safety of the hotel on the absence of Senor manager

  • Plan alternative recipes for guests with special dietary needs.

  • Adhere to food, health and safety standards.

  • Communicate and build strong relationships with vendors.
