Description
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and guest focused Food & Beverage Host / Hostess to join the Food and Beverage department within our Hotel. The main focus of the role will be to provide guests with outstanding levels of service in the restaurant as well as overseeing all the administration duties for the Food & Beverage department.

The Rubens at the Palace Hotel, part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is a stunning five star property located in the heart of London’s Victoria and within walking distance of Buckingham Palace. This wonderful hotel has been fully refurbished and features 161 individually designed bedrooms and suites, as well as a range of Food and Beverage outlets including The English Grill Restaurant, The Curry Room Restaurant, The New York Bar, The Palace Lounge and Champagne Bar, as well as 9 well equipped function rooms.

The shift pattern for this role is 4 Days ON 4 Days OFF (9.30am – 9.30pm). Whilst on shift the successful candidates’ time will be split between being in the Food & Beverage Admin Office and on the Restaurant Floor.

Key responsibilities of the Food & Beverage Host / Hostess will include:
• Monitoring restaurant reservations and compiling all bookings into design my night platform
• Reconfirm booking details and attendance of all outlet bookings and update on design my night
• Manage all guest correspondence for the Food & Beverage Department including questions, requests, responding to feedback and ensuring all correspondence is followed up on
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports as required
• Writing and updating menus with the heads of departments, sommelier & Exec Chef
• Ensuring that any new policies/trainings from the People & Culture team are communicated and completed
• Attend meetings as required such as function sheet meeting, morning meeting, departmental meetings
• Host duties in The English Grill restaurant include Welcoming and greeting guests as they arrive and seating them in a timely manner
• Present menus/wine lists to guests and introduce their server
• Upsell other food & beverage outlets in the hotel
