Position: Sous Chef - Pastry at The Savoy

Your Role:
Every memorable dining experience at The Savoy begins behind the scenes with our Kitchen team’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine. Develop your talent with us as a Pastry Sous Chef, where your care and creativity will elevate our menus!

The main responsibility of our Pastry Sous Chef is to assist in the running and overseeing of the whole pastry department at The Savoy Hotel. Our Sous chef is to demonstrate strong leadership qualities with attention to detail in elevating and sustaining a competitive edge.

Main Responsibilities:
-You will be accountable for the quality and consistency of all the pastry products produced and served within your department along with the efficiencies, consistency, associate training and accountability of the costings.
-You will work very closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and Assistant Pastry Chef to create develop and implement new seasonal creative dishes.
-With a “Hands on Approach” you will assign tasks effectively for the efficient use of allocated labour ensuring maximum results are achieved and daily products needs have been met in a timely, organised and efficient manner.
-Responsible for the complete set up, cleanliness and organisation of the pastry and bakery department area at all times
-Actively seeks to maintain knowledge of industry trends in the world of pastry and baking and put them to good use.

You will need:
• 5 years experience in the Hospitality Industry at a 5 star or Michelin Star background.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal.
• A confident & dynamic speaker, able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of an organisation.
• Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships
with others.
• Proven organisational skills, works well on their own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
• Applicable job related skills as per Accountable Duties.
