Job Overview:
The job of the Barista is to ensure that all drinks are consistently prepared the same way and to include the same ingredients. They ensure that coffee, tea, and espresso drinks are prepared with the proper ratios and are served in the correct china/glassware in adherence to LTH recipes and procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing technically proficient service to all guests and for being their advocate throughout their LTH experience;
Responsible for treating all co-workers in a respectful manner;
Responsible for communicating openly and thoroughly with supervisor and for bringing all guest concerns to supervisor’s attention immediately;
Responsible for clearly communicating schedule requests or obtaining proper approval for all shift changes and for being appropriately dressed and ready to work at the scheduled time;
Responsible for adherence to all LTH recipes (except for guests’ allergies), policies, and procedures;
Responsible for having thorough knowledge of and for being able to accurately and attractively describe all food and beverage products;
Responsible for having thorough knowledge of LTH, its origin, and philosophy and enthusiastically offering to share that knowledge with all guests;
Develops understanding of coffee and tea regions and the various differences in blends.
Acts in a professional manner and does not eat, talk on the phone, raise voice to coworkers, or use inappropriate language or gestures in the Barista station or within sight/earshot of guests.
Greets guests promptly and in a friendly manner.
Gets permission from a manager before taking any breaks and NEVER eats at the barista station.
Informs manager of VIP and regularly returning guests. Makes an effort to recognize and learn names of returning guests.
Maintains cleanliness of barista station. Routinely cleans grinders, espresso machine, restocks fridges, labeling and dating all cold products in compliance with health department standards.
Immediately informs manager when he/she notices any items are running low and need to be reordered.
Completes all opening and closing side work.
Responsible for helping out fellow employees when needed and making an extra effort to ensure that all guests are satisfied.

Requirements:
High school diploma or further educational certification or degree;
Sufficient exposure, generally a minimum of two years in a similar type of foodservice establishment;
Prior experience in hospitality;
Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays;
Strong communication skills;
Comfort in a high-paced/high-volume environment;
Solid work ethic;
Ability to stand, sit, bend, kneel, and reach with little to no accommodations needed for possible extended periods of time;
Able to carry/hold more than 10 lbs.
