About the role

 

The Works is a retail business with over 500 stores and a growing online store, and processes a very high volume of sales transactions from many sites. The revenue & cash team is responsible for ensuring cash and related transactions are accounted for correctly.

 

As an Accounts Administrator, you will be an integral part of the Cash Accounting team whose main function on a daily basis is to ensure accurate, prompt recording of all cash receipts and investigation of descrepancies.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Enter, analyse and resolve cash exceptions
  • Analyse & communicate discrepancies with stores, Area and Division Managers & HR
  • Resolving cash related store queries
  • Month end journals & reconciliations
  • Point of contact for G4S queries and administration
  • Daily posting of the cash book
  • Import daily bank file into Aptos (accounting system)
  • Import credit card transactions from Wren
  • Raising multi-currency payments on the banking platform
  • Administration, coding and reconciliation of credit cards
  • Raise invoices for landlords
  • Process L2S vouchers
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary as the role, team and business develops

 

Knowledge, skills & experience


  • You will ideally be experienced in a similar role for a minimum of 12 months
  • Used to dealing with high volumes of data, and processing quickly and accurately
  • Good Numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with Microsoft programmes in particular Excel
  • A good communicator at all levels
