IT Software Developer - Remote Working

The bit "About the Role"
You will be part of an agile development team, building and working on software in the Microsoft .NET Stack. You will be a self-motivated .NET developer with experience developing both front and back end systems. Your primary responsibilities will be to help design and develop these applications, testing, deploying and coordinating with colleagues across the business, while adhering to coding standards.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities
  • Take requirements provided by the business to then design, develop, test and deploy software to meet the business’s needs.
  • Contribute through our Agile ceremonies of stand-ups, backlog refinement, planning and retrospective sessions.
  • Writing SOLID code for efficiency, re-usability and ease of maintenance
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and to provide potential solutions
  • Help maintain existing legacy applications and code
  • Help to maintain and automate CI/CD processes
  • Support applications out of hours when needed on a weekly rotation
  • Perform and assist with Development Deployments
  • Support legacy applications (classic ASP, legacy reporting)
  • Database and Reporting Support

Skills we are looking for...there is quite a few...

  • Proficient in C# and the .NET Frameworks
  • Proficiency with .NET Core (2.1 or above)
  • Experience with writing APIs
  • Experience working in an Agile methodology
  • Proficiency in T-SQL Databases
  • Proficiency at writing high quality code using coding standards such as SOLID
  • Understanding and demonstrating use of design patterns
  • Proficiency in JavaScript
  • Proficiency in Unit Testing
  • Proficiency with TDD
  • Proficiency with Source Control tools such as Git
  • Demonstrable experience adapting to and learning new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent Troubleshooting Abilities
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Experience with Reporting (SSRS or other technologies)
  • Experience with supporting legacy applications
