The bit "About You"


Reporting into the QA Test Team Lead, you will play a vital part in our Development Team by defining, writing and executing test plans using a variety of tools. You will be comfortable working within a team using an Agile methodology.


You are a strong communicator and collaborator who can work within our team to deliver high quality software into production. You will be comfortable using a risk based approach to testing, building test plans that incorporate both manual system testing and automation using tools like Selenium & Specflow. You will be comfortable writing SQL to check results and have a good understanding of the topology of an IT ecosystem.


This is an exciting opportunity to be able to help shape how we approach testing and to build on our relatively new home-grown automated testing suite.

 

The bit "About the Role"


The purpose of this role is to ensure that we are maintaining a high standard of code that ships to production. You will be a gatekeeper of quality, ensuring that we are delivering code to the high standard agreed by the team and that we have fulfilled requirements requested. You will also help maintain and add to our home-grown automated test suite using Selenium and Specflow.


The key responsibilities are:

 

Test Plan Creation & Execution

Working with the rest of the Development team to put together Test Plans and to execute them against code written internally. You will put test plans together in a clear concise manner with your colleagues, ensuring maximum applicable coverage for the software that you are testing.

 

Agile Communication

Attending daily scrum meetings to give status updates on the items you are working on. You will clearly communicate to the rest of the team any blockers or issues you have encountered while testing. You will also raise any blocking or show stoppers to the team immediately to ensure the correct priority is given raising to stakeholders where necessary.

 

Test Automation

Contributing to the existing automated test suite using Selenium and Specflow, written in C#. You will also help manage, utilise and expand on a third-party automated test suite as part of our EPOS rollout and continued maintenance thereafter written in Java.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


Mandatory

  • Excellent team player, flexible, responsive and takes ownership of tasks
  • Have strong problem solving skills and resilience to issues and influences outside of his/her control.
  • Experience in automation testing of .NET applications
  • Experience in test tools such as Selenium and Microsoft coded UI
  • Practical experience working in an established Test Automation framework
  • Ability to easily identify test scenarios
  • Experience with integration testing with 3rd party software

 

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile Software Development Team
  • Database Experience using SQL
  • Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps
  • Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman
  • Experience with Visual Studio IDE 2017 or later
