The bit ‘About You’


Reporting into the Head of Projects and Programmes, you will play a pivotal role in helping to manage and deliver various projects and change initiatives. These will be across all functions including E-commerce, Retail and Supply Chain.


You’re a natural communicator that can work with various stakeholders internally and externally to construct project plans, manage expectations and drive a team towards a common goal. You have exceptional stakeholder management skills, keeping all parties updated and managing expectations. Comfortable working with our internally and external development teams to deliver projects on time and to budget. You are comfortable liaising with senior and exec stakeholders.

 

The bit ‘About the Role’

 

The purpose of the role is to help deliver projects and change initiatives across the organisation, working with various stakeholders internally and externally. Managing the change from inception, working with a Business Analyst on large scale projects to define the deliverables, construct a project plan and deliver the change on time and to budget. You will play a role in helping to shape The Works Project Delivery Methodology ensuring we are continuously looking to improve our ways of working.

 

The key responsibilities are:


Project Planning

You will work with all project stakeholders to construct a project plan that all parties are in agreeance with. Working with the senior management in development, infrastructure and services, and third-party specialists you will ensure needs, resources, dependencies, and constraints are all considered in presenting planning options that can deliver the outcomes we seek.

 

Risk and Issue Management

You will identify risks prior to project kick off, identifying mitigation options and frequent review points. Keeping the RAID Log updated and focusing on resolution and mitigation. If required, you will escalate any to your line manager

 

Stakeholder Management

You will engage with all Project stakeholders across all levels. Ensuring that they are kept updated with project progress and any risks to agreed timelines or budgets. Expectations are well managed. Comfortable to lead project update meetings and steering groups with colleagues at all levels. Ensuring the Head of Projects is updated with any key developments or issues as a project progresses.

 

Indirect Resource Management

You will work with the relevant team members to deliver a project. Planning in any resource requirements and notifying the individual or line manager when it will be required. Comfortable escalating to Line Manager of resource or Head of Projects if not progressing to plan.

 

Team Development

You will work with the Head of Project to continuously improve our ways of working as a project team. Updating our critical artifacts and processes to ensure that we are learning from all mistakes and successes during a project.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Mandatory:

  • Experience using Agile and Waterfall Project Management Methodologies
  • Experience building complex project plans using tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Experience managing project budgets, with internal and external cost factors
  • Experience constructing RAID Logs, with relevant mitigations 
  • Experience indirectly managing internal or external development teams to deliver project
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
  • Able to prioritise and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously and deliver to expectations
  • Able to escalate to Line Manager when appropriate
  • Experience creating process maps to aid with user adoption
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills

 

Desirable:

  • Retail technology experience and experience working in the Retail Sector
  • Experience working as part of an AGILE team
  • Experience utilising outcome driven planning
  • Experience working in logistics and/or warehousing systems
  • Experience using Project Management software such as Click Up
  • Experience working with website platforms such as Salesforce
  • Experience of point of sales software such as Enactor
  • Experience of working with Business Information tools or in a data transformation project
  • Able to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
