Sous Chef for Modern Independent Pub Balham


Permanent Full Time/Part Time Sous Chef Wanted for The Regent. We are a successful, growing independent South London operator of inviting, neighbourhood locals.


OUR SOUS CHEF AUDITIONS ARE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

Come and be part of a friendly kitchen team.   You'll create something fantastic and deliver our fresh food offering to the local neighbourhoods.

 

Key Sous Chef responsibilities:

 

  •  Maximising dry sales by ensuring only the best food leaves your kitchen at all times
  • Comply with our food standards and guidelines.
  • Compliance with all Health & Safety policies & procedures
  • Assisting the Head Chefs with the training in of the new menu to our Livelyhood teams

  • Supplier ordering and maintaining correct stock levels

About The Regent Balham


The Regent Balham is a busy modern neighbourhood local - a space with personality, all about celebrating good food, drink, sport and entertainment.

Independent, inviting and right up your street, The Regent is a pretty handsome and friendly local serving darn tasty pub food. The Regent enjoys strong food sales, has a fantastic spacious secret garden and there’s plenty of opportunities for our people to develop themselves.

The Regent is conveniently located less than a 2 minute walk from Balham over ground/tube station so is very easy to get to.


About You


Experience in a similar position preferred or if you are ready to make the step up into a Sous Chef role, we'd love to hear from you.


Throw in your passion for fresh produce, consistent, flavoursome food, ability to communicate clearly in English, good organisational skills, knowledge of H & S, strong work ethic and you'll have us at hello!


Our Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in the delivery of Livelyhood’s fresh food offering that has our five Lively Ways (values) of Authentic, Daring, People, Lively and Sustainable at its very heart.

  • Competitive hourly rates of pay of up to £12.50 - £13.50  per hour depending on your experience
