Job Title:                                  Assistant Director of Finance

Responsible To:                     Director of Finance

 

Type of Contract:                 Permanent

 

Main Purpose of Job:           The Assistant Director of Finance manages the day to day operation of the Accounting office. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, internal audits and controls, asset & liability reconciliation and cash control.

 

 

MAIN DUTIES

 

  • Supervising a team of 4 staff.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts (including analysis of key variances) to strict deadlines.
  • Preparation of monthly Accruals, Prepayments and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Preparation of weekly cash flow projections. 
  • Management of the Hotel’s Labour Management System and weekly reporting of actual vs forecast variances.
  • Management of working capital - prompt collection of accounts receivable and regulation of supplier payments.
  • Managing day to day banking issues and funding. 
  • Responsibility for cash control throughout the resort.
  • Assist in the Preparation and management of the annual budget.
  • Preparation of year end Accounts. 
  • Responsible for VAT preparation. 
  • Regular monitoring and ensuring compliance of Purchase Order system.
  • Providing ad hoc reports for management.
  • Developing & maintaining strong internal & external relationships.
  • The proper maintenance of financial records.
  • Various daily and monthly administration duties.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Report anything of concern to Director of Finance.

  • To fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.
  • To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
  • To keep your work area tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
  • To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and the location of first aid box.
  • To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
  • To carry out and promote fire and accident drills as directed by the hotel safety officer.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

 

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or Finalist.
  • Previous hospitality experience desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical and numerical abilities are crucial.
  • Highly Proficient in Excel.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where the focus is on our business and continuous improvement in all that we do.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A team player who has the ability to motivate others, making it fun while getting the job done.
  • Positive attitude, cheerful and courteous demeanour.
  • Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.
