Job description – Locker Room Attendant

Job Title:                                    Locker Room Attendant

 

Department:                            Locker Rooms

 

Responsible To:                       Golf Manager

 

Type of Contract:                   Part-time, Seasonal

 

Main Purpose of Job:             To ensure all members and guests requirements are serviced in a friendly and efficient manner while maintaining the highest standards of service, hygiene and cleanliness within the locker room areas.


Liaises with:    All departments

 

MAIN DUTIES

 

  • Maintaining locker room and associated areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Ensure all member and guest requests are met to their satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that supplies to the locker rooms are correctly stocked and stored, ensuring member and guest comfort.
  • Adapting to external weather conditions with regards to the service of golf wear and footwear and the demands which may ensue
  • Providing refreshments.
  • Offering to clean shoes/change spikes/dry wet gear, if required.
  • Processes cash and credit card payments and returns change to customers.
  • Perform cleaning duties including sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets and rugs, tidying service station, dusting and polishing brass and silverware.
  • Addresses any customer concerns in a professional manner and notifies management of same.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, staff may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel which can include day, evening or weekend shifts.
  • Participates in training programmes as required.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

 

  • To fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.
  • To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
  • To keep your work area tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
  • To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and the location of first aid box.
  • To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
  • To carry out and promote fire and accident drills as directed by the hotel safety officer.

 

OTHER DUTIES

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

 

  • Experience of 5 star hospitality an advantage. 
  • The ability to listen actively and effectively in order to understand exactly what our members & residents require.
  • The ability to anticipate the members and guests needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and diplomacy - both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude, cheerful and courteous demeanour.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.
