Seasonal Golf Starter
Description
Trump Turnberry, A Luxury Collection Resort, Scotland is ready to receive applications from exceptional, talented individuals eager to join our legendary team.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Golf Starter will control the initial pace of play by directing players to the first tee in an orderly fashion and in conjunction with their scheduled tee time. This position is available as a seasonal or casual position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Greets members and guests promptly and courteously upon their arrival.
• Works closely with the Golf Shop to verify tee times and confirm that players have paid the appropriate fees.
• Cues groups to move to the first tee. Ensures that no more than one group is on the tee at any one time.
• Spaces play to avoid course delays. Ensures players begin their round on time, not ahead or behind.
• Advises players about the pace of play and local rules.
• Completes the Starter’s worksheet for each group and documents player counts.
• Records weather conditions and keep worksheets up to date and completed.
• Communicates with the Golf Shop associates regarding the speed of play and any possible delays.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
• Considerable knowledge of recreational operations and maintenance work. Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel and business management.
• Thorough knowledge of the methods used in the care and maintenance of golf courses.
• Thorough knowledge of the care and maintenance of grass greens.
• Thorough knowledge of the uses and operating methods of equipment and tools used in golf course maintenance.
• Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates engaged in golf course care and maintenance.
• Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
