Description
Seeking a Sous Chef for Van Da. We are a new modern Vietnamese restaurant in the East Village and are open for dinner service five nights a week, ‪Tuesday-Saturday‬.

Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- at least 2 years of experience in a professional restaurant kitchen, ideally with a focus on Asian cooking.
- food handler’s license.
- be self-motivated, organized, with strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- ability to work well with others in an intimate environment.

Primary responsibilities will include executing dinner service alongside executive chef (cooking on the line and expediting as needed), maintaining kitchen cleanliness and A-grade sanitation standards, ordering, receiving, and prep. This job is ideal for an ambitious cook looking to take the next step in his or her career, and will offer the opportunity to work directly with the restaurant owner, learn new techniques/ingredients, and be part of a close-knit team. It offers a highly competitive base salary, a consistent schedule with two consecutive days off, a week of paid vacation after one year, and a bonus upon meeting certain criteria.
