Description
Position Title: Host/Hostess
Reports to: Manager

General Summary:

The Host/Hostess is a key position, crucial to ensuring guest satisfaction as well as driving business into the Hotel. The Host/Hostess is responsible for coordinating and managing all reservations, walk-ins, dining room and banquet seating, guest assistance, guest needs and flow of guests in and out of our outlets. Hospitality and communication skills are a must, and required. This position also includes administration of any and all table management/reservation systems, light administrative duties and extensive phone time. The Host/Hostess is ultimately responsible for managing all aspects of the front door, guest arrival, seating and departure, in according to Company policy. The Host/Hostess must ultimately uphold the values and mission statement of the Company while performing positional responsibilities and adhering to operational standards.

Primary Duties:

· To uphold the Hotel Figueroa values and mission statement while performing positional responsibilities.
· To adhere to company policy and procedures, as stated in the company Handbook.
· To provide the highest quality service to all guests at all times, by instilling the company philosophy.
· Organize greeting, seating and exiting of all guests using a professional demeanor.
· Organize all reservations, banquets and guests using the most effective guest and restaurant conscious procedures.
· Professionally and effectively communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction
· Organizes special requests, birthdays, specialty cakes, large parties, third party pay forms, repeat guests, celebrity guests and banquets.
· Maintain guest relationships to promote repeat business.
· Implement quick and efficient decisions based on guest and/or Company needs.
· Uses business savvy skills to maximize seating space and increase revenue based on seating all guests, walk-ins and large parties.
· Communication with the bar, service, kitchen and management staff.
· Awareness of guests needs, reservation needs and location needs at all times.
· Understand the available outlets and seating configurations.
· Create and maintain a database of local concierges.
· Use table management and reservation software to the best of its capacity.
· Maintain integrity of service.
· Speak with guests to encourage feedback.
· Treat every guest, employee and vendor with respect and dignity.
· Report to work on time, in uniform, always following proper time card and clock-in procedures.





Requirements:

Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition. Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff. Must maintain a high level of integrity. Is able to adapt to difficult situations, solve problems and make appropriate decisions when necessary. Shows an eagerness and capacity to learn, Can be relied upon to complete tasks. Must possess the ability to communicate via written and oral means with the culinary team and guests alike.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Must be able to deal with guests in a professional manner.
· Minimum of 2 years experience in a high volume, upscale establishment

Other:

May be required to lift up to 30lbs. occasionally.
Available to work late nights, weekends, holidays and long days as necessary.
Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting.
