Description
Position Title: Viale Server

Reports to: Floor Managers, General Manager, Director of F&B


General Summary:

A Service position at Viale forth and foremost requires to buy in From Scratch Hospitality’s culture of genuine care towards our guests. Guest experience is paramount.
The server’s responsibilities starts with serving guests in a warm, accommodating, professional manner, guiding them thoughtfully through their entire dining experience as if it was your own.

The server is responsible for serving beverages, marking silverware, serving and clearing food in cooperation with other team members.
Therefore, proper communication as well as how we communicate is one of From Scratch Hospitality’s core values. Hospitality starts with us as a team. The manner in how we treat each other must carry on naturally to our guests. We must communicate to assure our guests needs are being met, and every detail of Viale’s experience is being executed properly.
Servers present and serve wine according to Company standards. Viale Servers are also responsible for entering orders into the POS system and closing charged sales. The server must ultimately uphold the values and mission statement of our experience while performing positional responsibilities and adhering to operational standards, as stated in the employee handbook. This position is only obtained after an apprenticeship period has been completed to the satisfaction of supervisors.








Primary Duties:

· To uphold the values and mission statement of our experience while performing positional responsibilities.
· To adhere to company policy and procedures, as stated in the company Handbook.
· To provide the highest quality service to all guests at all times, by instilling our philosophy.
· Accommodate guests by making each individual feel welcome and cared for, and being on the floor at all times.
· Have honest knowledge about the menu, wine list and any specials.
· Know each menu item, its ingredients and preparation methods.
· Explain menu items with confidence and knowledge.
· Deliver food to the guests.
· Use of POS system to input orders, and follow appropriate procedures if POS system is not functioning.
· Make recommendations when appropriate.
· Arrange tables and chairs for guests
· To treat every guest, employee and vendor with hospitality and respect.
· To report to work on time and in proper uniform, always following time card and clock in procedures as is required for all employees.
· To promote teamwork within the Hotel, creating a positive work environment.
· To properly execute all necessary steps of service.
· Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization throughout the Hotel at all times.
· To provide exemplary service to all guests by applying knowledge of service and the food and beverage menus.
· Attend pre-shift line up daily.
· Perform other job related activities as required, requested or assigned by supervisors.
· Complete our training program successfully with performance metrics throughout the process.
· Check identification for all guests under the age of 30 that are requesting to purchase alcoholic beverages.
· Maintain accurate financial records of your shifts, including gratuity, discounts/voids/comps and any other necessary information.
· Respond positively to any guest’s requests.
· To attend and participate in company trainings and seminars which are on-going and scheduled with an ample notice period.
· To execute daily side-work with care and motivation.
· To check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their experience and meals


Requirements:

· Proficient in all aspects of fine dining service.
· Knowledge of food and beverage, as well as a passion to cultivate this skill.
· Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction.
· Possess a strong sense of urgency.
· Display a confidant and professional appearance at all times and consistently meet company grooming standards.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 3 years front of house experience in a high volume, upscale dining establishment
· Must be able to perform basic math functions.
· Provide a valid Food Handler Certificate

Other:

May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
Available to work late nights, weekends, holidays and long days as necessary.
Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting.
