Description
Victor's Cafe - Cuban restaurant in NYC for 54 years - is seeking an experienced manager. Manager will work with the Director of Operations, Chef and culinary team to ensure that guests receive a consistent enjoyable experience of our service, food and beverage.
Under the direction of the Director of Operation, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the restaurant, while performing positional responsibilities and adhering to company policies and procedures, as stated in Employee Handbook.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Candidate will be responsible for supervising employees, creating and maintaining client relationships, as well as other hospitality duties.

Demonstrate and promote the restaurant's culture, with consistency.

Ensures that service is carried out in accordance with company policy.

Supervises personnel according to established personnel policies and procedures.

Assists in training and evaluating all dining room personnel and enforces food and beverage policies and procedures.

Assist beverage manager in training and implementation of beverage program, inventory and product ordering procedures.

Ensures sanitation compliance throughout restaurant.

Handles customer complaints with respect and grace under pressure.

Promotes positive professional employee relations at all times.

Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.

Promote teamwork within the restaurant, creating a positive work environment.

Promotes sales and provides staff with the proper tools to upsell.

Treat every customer, employee and vendor with respect and dignity.

Ensure the highest levels of organization are maintained in the dining room and bar at all times, without exception.

Document and file departmental attendance, staff warnings, suspensions and terminations in accordance with company policies and handbook.
Perform other job related activities as required or assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

Desired Candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years experience in hospitality, preferably with a background in an upscale casual or fine-dining restaurant.

Proficient in all aspects of dining service

Knowledge of food and beverage as well as a passion to cultivate this skill

Minimal experience with cost control systems to include food, beverage and labor percentages

Effective style of management promoting a team atmosphere.

Ability to inspire staff to achieve their potential

Basic understanding of food handling and sanitation requirements of the New York State Department of Health

May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally

Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction

Excellent multi-tasking skills and working well under pressure with a smile amidst a busy atmosphere.

Qualified candidates will be service minded, eloquent, quick thinking, polished and calm under pressure when handling guests.
Previous experience with Cuban, Spanish and/or Latin foods.

Dynamic, outgoing personality

Proactive, self-starter and solutions expert

Have a passion for excellent food and providing exceptional customer service.

Previous experience in marketing and sales is a plus.

Candidate must be well versed in Microsoft Office, Opentable and POS systems.

Candidate's must possess good work ethic and integrity

A flexible schedule is required.
