Kickstart Roastery Packing Assistant

Description

KICKSTART ROLE - PLEASE ONLY APPLY TO THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE BEEN REFERRED BY A JOBCENTRE WORK COACH AND/OR YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE KICKSTART SCHEME.

WatchHouse is a specialty coffee group and roastery with 7 cafes across London. With new sites on the horizon, we continue to grow at pace with exciting opportunities for those wishing to build a career in hospitality.

We are passionate about people, product and spaces and look to elevate our customers' experience of a modern coffee shop environment. We’re looking for someone who can build great relationships within our Houses as we expand into new communities.

Our Roastery which opened in August 2020 is a real hub of energy, whilst being the important roasting operation at the core of the WatchHouse business, it also is home to the Support Office, brand-spankin' new training facilities and the beautifully crafted Maltby Street Watch House café, open to customers 7 days a week. A considered space that seamlessly encompasses the beating heart of the Watch House business with the Modern Coffee customer experience.

This is a great opportunity to join WatchHouse’s Roastery, rolling your sleeves up and getting hands-on packing our beautifully crafted coffee. This position is designed to deal with the operational side of running the Roastery. It means you’ll be involved in everything past the point of the roasted coffee being handed over from the Roaster, primarily packing huge amounts of coffee into bags and boxes!

It is an entry-level, hourly paid role working 5 days out of 7 per week in the Roastery. The shifts will vary every week, in line with the current schedule at the Roastery to allow for thorough training.

Alongside an environment that can be strict for the right reasons, we aim to have fun, drink plenty of coffee and share our passion for this industry with everyone in our team. The packing role is crucial to our team, dedication to removing defects from batches, keeping our storage areas clean and managing rotation have a significant impact on the end result of our product and we give the utmost respect to that area of our work.

Essential skills required:

  • Organisation
  • Teamwork
  • The ability to follow instruction to the letter
  • Initiative to work independently on set tasks
  • Punctuality and good timekeeping
  • Good communication skills
