Maintenance Manager 

Permanent, Full Time (will include weekend work)

Location: Bristol

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

 

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team. The successful applicant will ensure the smooth running of all areas of The Wave facility. 

There’s a huge focus on the maintenance of our wave generating tech and the water quality but this role will also be responsible for a team that will carry out routine and reactive maintenance and repair across all equipment and areas around site (accommodation, retail, café and throughout the club house). 

With hundreds of surfers each day, this is a busy place and role and in order to provide the high levels of service that our visitors deserve, you will be part of a team who are engaged, eager to learn and empowered to deliver high standards all the time and keeping those waves rolling.

 

What you’ll be up to:

WAVEGARDEN KIT & LAKE

·        Lead contact for maintenance issues relating to the Wavegarden equipment.

·        Inspecting the Wavegarden equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines, to ensure performance optimisation and operational efficiency.

·        Executing planned maintenance and calibration tasks on the Wavegarden equipment.

·        Liaising with Wavegarden regarding changed or improvements to Wave Tech kit.

·        Maintaining appropriate water quality level through proper management of the water treatment facility and cleaning of lake walls and floor.

 

WIDER WAVE SITE

·        Carrying out daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections of the site and prioritise appropriate works.

·        Reacting and planning maintenance across the whole Wave site and buildings.

·        Maintaining accurate and timely records of maintenance operations on the CMMS system (Emaint).

·        Designing and implementing an effective programme for proactive and reactive maintenance.

·        Managing the installation of new equipment and the disposal of any worn out / damaged equipment.

 

KEEPING US ON POINT

Safety

·        Conducting risk assessments for all work activities and to identify possible hazards on or around site, including storing and working with chemicals.

·        Maintaining the highest levels of safety across your departments and site whilst creating a culture of safety and quality amongst the team, which is monitored through regular auditing.

·        Ensuring that the building & equipment within it are fit for purpose & repairs & maintenance are logged promptly & followed up on. 

 

Standards

·        Promoting a culture of outstanding service via a friendly & knowledgeable team.

·        Constantly challenging your teams to be better, looking to surpass our customers’ expectations and to be fully engaged in the business so they know how their personal contribution makes a difference. 

 

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

·        Curating an amazing team, including creating a succession plan within your department.

·        Training, developing & nurturing the curiosity in your team to increase their skills & contribution & also progress their careers.

·        Managing performance fairly through regular performance reviews and the provision of open and honest feedback.

 

THE OTHER STUFF

·        Carrying out duty manager shifts.

·        To be on call and available for the duty manager or the site security team outside of normal office hours in the event of maintenance issues.

·        Preparing the maintenance monthly board report, showing defects and completion ratio.

·        Finding and managing external contractors and suppliers ensuring best price & SLA’s are met.

·        Managing maintenance related projects of future on site developments.

 

Qualifications and/or Experience

·        Experience in a large single site or multi-site maintenance manager role.

·        Experience in the maintenance of Siemens motors.

·        A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field.

·        Experience in operating multi-faceted facilities for example including accommodation, food & beverage, retail or active leisure-based facilities.

·        Able to demonstrate a successful track record of developing and delivering a first-class customer experience.

·        Experience in running pool plant equipment/water treatment facilities. 

·        Managing a team.
