The Payroll Manager ensures accurate processing and recording of company’s payrolls, provides timely and accurate financial information in addition to processing high volume of payroll in multiple states, and participates in daily data entry Payroll Processing. This position will impact a large growing organization and offers career development opportunities for the right candidate.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

Performs daily payroll department operations
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely (Biweekly for all assigned locations and Company codes).
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Execute time and attendance processing and interface with the payroll system
Process or perform correct pay, garnishments, liens, child support, and levies calculations. With compliance as need
Review and confirm checks and balances of associates after posting
Provide full backup for payroll team members as needed
Process manual checks with HR Director approval
Reviews and analyses payroll reports for accuracy and directs necessary adjustments or corrections.
Research and provide information to appropriate audience of any payroll related issues
Complete verification of employment forms as needed
Perform other functions as assigned by Human Resources Director
Reporting

Create search overview reports and KPI’s
Projects

Participate in cross functional projects as needed
Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) recommended
4-6 years’ experience required in performing payroll functions in a large organization with multi-state filings, tip pooling distributions and payment regulations. Restaurant or Hospitality experience preferred.
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
Working knowledge of ADP WORKFORCE NOW payroll Software REQUIRED including web base HRIS
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
Strong work ethic and team player
High degree of professionalism
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
Exhibits understanding of company benefits such as 401(k), insurance, paid leave, and other voluntary deductions.
Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
Ability to communicate with various levels of management
