Spin Class Instructor


Description
Previous experience instructing group exercise and fitness/wellness programs in a recreational facility setting. Develops curriculum to accomplish class objectives.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with participants, and co-workers.
Be aware of modifications to exercise needed by patrons of all ages and experience levels.
Ability to project voice loudly.
Ability to reason, problem solve and resolve conflicts effectively.

Programs include, but are not limited to weekly Cycle and Spinning classes.
Must have previous experience in instructing group exercise and fitness/ wellness programs in recreational facility setting preferably Cycle or Spinning type classes.
The goal of the Fitness Instructor is to affect positive change in people's life style through exercise and wellness education.
Must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with participants, co-workers and supervisors, as well as to reason, problem solve, and resolve conflicts effectively.
Must have ability to project voice loudly during entire class time so participants can hear instructions.
Prepares classroom environment prior to each class session (i.e. sets up equipment as needed.)
Adapts class pace/content to accommodate different student skill levels and needs.
Identifies class objectives to students and skills they will build as a result of participation in the class.
Provides a safe and non-intimidating learning environment. Maintains control of class environment. Provides feedback to class participants.
Inspects equipment to insure safety and cleanliness.
Selected candidate must have a good work ethic, be reliable and on time for class.
Must have a high desire to instruct groups.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings. Complete and turn in time sheets on schedule.
Participate in related activities within the department.
