Children's Specialist Snowsports Supervisor


Description
The purpose of the Children’s Specialist Snowsports Supervisor is to provide leadership, supervisory oversight, and management of the daily operations of the Children’s Specialist Snowsports Instructors..

• Organize department off-snow training.
• Aid Instructors in determining meeting times, options for lunch, and end of the lesson meeting locations with Members.
• Aid the Outdoor Pursuits Manager in the program design, facility management, assessment, risk management, and staffing
including hiring, training and supervising.
• Train instructors on how to plan, organize, and provide safe, fun, and professional instruction within the guidelines of the YC
Snowsports School and the standards of PSIA.
• Implement and train instructors on summarization of lessons and how to fill out appropriate progress cards.
• Facilitate morning meetings and assignment of lessons.
• Assist the Outdoor Pursuits Manager with the Instructor end of the season reviews.
• Collaborate and communicate with Outdoor Pursuits Manager to ensure department success.
• Provide training and leadership for the skiing and boarding.
• Create weekly employee work schedules and control labor based on activity level.
• Delegate daily work assignments appropriately.
• Plan and provide training and guidance daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Provide strong leadership and inspire Instructor staff.
• Communicate and work with OP Reservations and Billing/Payroll about booked activities.
• Communicate and work with Retail/Rental team about booked activities.
• Remain calm under pressure; handle crisis management as it unfolds and remain flexible to change as events happen.
• Be organized and detail oriented, utilizing checklists or other systems to ensure no task is left undone; anticipate events and plan
ahead; prepare for the unexpected; remain focused on the end result.
• Be helpful, respectful, approachable and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
